The University of Pittsburgh has a rich and colorful history, much of which is documented in publications and photographic images held by the University Archives. Through the financial support from the Office of Provost, the University Library System's Digital Research Library digitized a set of key materials that reflect portions of the university’s documented history.

Both the SHRS undergraduate and graduate student handbooks specify that students who participate in clinical education are required to carry personal health insurance beyond the services provided by Pitt’s Student Health Service . Pitt students have the option to purchase supplemental health insurance via the University of Pittsburgh /UPMC Student Health Plan
Healthcare professionals in the twenty-first century must be prepared to collaborate effectively with professionals in many other disciplines, and to lead and participate in interprofessional teams. SHRS provides numerous opportunities for students to work in small groups during the course of their classroom experiences and clinical education.

Tuition Rates for the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences vary according to student status (undergraduate or graduate), in-state (PA) or out-of-state. We offer a reduced tuition rate for several of our first professional graduate programs. Rates for out-of-state residents in the following graduate programs: Physical Therapy (DPT), Occupational Therapy (MOT), Communication Science and Disorders (MA/MS), Audiology (AuD), and Rehabilitation Counseling (MS) will qualify for the reduced tuition rate.
Qualifying SHRS undergraduate students have the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Philosophy (B.Phil.) degree, awarded by the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in concert with the University of Pittsburgh’s Honors College.
