Reminders:

New Teaching Assistant Orientation

For any SHRS students who will be completing Teaching Internships in the Spring 2104 term. Please register online by December 11, 2009 at http://www.cidde.pitt.edu/fds/ntao.htm. Please visit this site for registration and a detailed schedule.

Registration

Spring term registration will begin on October 22, 2009. Students will be able to register themselves online for the spring term! The Schedule of Classes for the spring 2010 term is now available. Be sure to check in PeopleSoft for your appointment time and follow the SHRS Self-Service Enrollment Instructions.
The Spring 2104 term class number for FTDI 0000 is 23734.

Please be sure to view the academic calendar for important dates/deadlines such as add/drop, monitored withdrawal, etc.

Important Dates

11/25/09 - 11/29/09 - Thanksgiving Recess for students (no classes)
12/11/09 - Spring term deadline for continuing students to register without a penalty fee
12/14/09 - 12/19/09 - Final Examination Period for undergraduate day classes
12/20/09 - 01/05/10 - Winter Recess for students (no classes)

December 2009 Graduation Application Deadlines

11/02/09 - Applications submitted now must include a $35.00 late fee
12/01/09 - Final date for submitting applications for December 2009 graduation

April 2009 Graduation Application Deadlines

01/22/10 - Last day for submitting applications without a fee
01/25/10 - Applications submitted now must include a $15.00 late fee
03/04/10 - Applications submitted now must include a $25.00 late fee
03/26/10 - Applications submitted now must include a $35.00 late fee
04/09/10 - Final date for submitting applications for April graduation

Student Services can begin to provide verification of graduation letters for students who are December 2009 graduates as individually requested as of January 12, 2010. Diplomas and transcripts will begin to be mailed to December 2009 graduates from the University Registrar's Office on February 5, 2010.

Fall Theses/Disseration Defense Deadlines

12/04/09 - Last day to defend

12/11/09 - Last day to submit final paperwork and ETD submission to Student Services

Please visit the ETD Website for their fall schedule of classes. You should plan early in your studies to complete the Getting Started session for information on the template and how to prepare your document before you begin writing, and to complete the Converting to PDF early in your last semester of study.
